The Aurora HXAB5-T is a high misalignment rod end designed for demanding applications, offering superior durability and performance. Its three-piece construction allows for optimized material selection: the body is made from heat-treated and zinc-plated 4130 steel alloy, the race from heat-treated alloy steel with a zinc and chromate treatment, and the ball from AMS-7440 52100 steel, which is heat-treated, hard chrome plated, and features built-in shoulders. This design provides exceptional misalignment capabilities, rated at 22 degrees, without requiring additional spacers. The integrated shoulders on the ball further enhance this ability. The rod end has a radial load capacity of 11,781 LBS and is lined with Teflon (PTFE) for increased wear resistance, making it ideal for applications like 4-links and ladder bars, differentiating it from softer Nylon races found in other manufacturers' products. The specifications for this specific model include a 0.813-inch ball width. When considering load capacities, it's important to note that the operational load capacity is derived from the radial static load rating, and appropriate safety factors should be applied. For full rotation assemblies up to 100 rpm, the load should not exceed 10% of the radial static load. Axial static load capacity is recommended at 10% of the radial static load for three-piece rod ends like this one.
