Carrillo, since 1963, is a premier custom connecting rod manufacturer. They offer custom and prototype connecting rods to major automotive and motorcycle venues, especially high-performance and speed equipment. Carrillo has expanded its standard stocking inventory. They offer A beam configurations (Pro-A, Pro-A-Ltd, Pro-Super A (SA), and Heavy Duty), in addition to their H beam. Pro-A is for less demanding, economical, high-performance applications. Pro-A-Ltd is for limited/restricted motors. Pro-Super-A (SA) bridges the gap between Pro-H and Pro-A. All Pro-H and A versions are stocking parts with popular dimensions. Carrillo uses proprietary chrome, nickel, moly, vanadium alloy, meeting VAR (vacuum arc re-melt ASTM) standards. Heat treatment is a mar-aged operation, resulting in 195,000 UTS and 182,000 yield, with low notch-sensitivity and ductility. Rods are made from oversized forgings for proper grainflow and surface removal. Critical CNC machines use probing for dimensional integrity. Each part is magnafluxed at least twice, Rockwell tested, and shotpeened.
