The BBS RI-A wheel is a one-piece die forged aluminum wheel with a patented milling process inside the spoke area, optimized for weight by FEM analysis. BBS has been flow-forming wheels since 1996, a process that uses continuous rotational motion with 3 hydraulic rollers and tremendous pressure at high temperatures to "Form" the inner rim area of the wheel. This process changes the mechanical properties of the cast rim area to increase strength, stiffness, and impact over "stiffness to weight ratio" which can deliver very high levels of performance at a cost much lower than a forged wheel. The ultimate racing specification wheel, based on the same concept as BBS' wheels for SUPER GT racing in Japan, with the same structure. Anti-slip paint minimizes slipping between wheel and tire, while steel bushings help protect the nut holes when the wheel is installed or removed.
