The BBS CH-R Wheel is a one-piece, counter-pressure cast wheel featuring a flow-formed rim and back-milled spoke area. It is designed with a stainless steel rim protector and optimized for weight through FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis. BBS has utilized flow-forming in its wheel manufacturing since 1996. This process involves continuous rotational motion with three hydraulic rollers and intense pressure at high temperatures to "form" the inner rim area of the wheel. This technique enhances the mechanical properties of the cast rim, improving its strength, stiffness, and impact resistance while maintaining a high stiffness-to-weight ratio, offering a high-performance solution at a lower cost than forged wheels.
