The BBS RI-D wheel is a premium, customizable alloy wheel. Its manufacturing involves continuous design innovation, prototyping, and a specialized foundry process where aluminum is low-pressure cast at over 1,000 degrees Celsius and rapidly cooled. Each wheel undergoes X-ray inspection. Thermal treatment and flow forming compact the rim well under high pressure. Precision machining with CNC machines ensures final dimensions, followed by deburring and inspection. A lacquer finish is applied, with further customization options like burnishing, pad printing, lasering, and ceramic polishing available.
