One-piece counter pressure cast wheel, weight optimized by FEM analysis. BBS has been flow-forming wheels since 1996. This process uses continuous rotational motion with 3 hydraulic rollers and tremendous pressure at high temperatures to 'form' the inner rim area, changing mechanical properties to increase strength, stiffness, and impact resistance. This delivers a very high level of performance at a cost much lower than a forged wheel. Designers at BBS continuously reinvent classic wheel designs, creating numerous sketches, drafts, and computer graphics in their in-house design studio. The manufacturing process includes Foundry, Quality control, Flow forming and thermal treatment, Precision machining, Lacquer finish, and a Processing center.
