The BD Diesel Positive Air Shutdown (PAS) is an emergency engine shutdown system. It works by placing an inline butterfly valve in the air intake line. When activated by its heavy-duty electrical solenoid, the engine shuts down within seconds by cutting off the air supply, thereby ceasing fuel ignition. It's designed for industries such as mining, oil refinery, forestry, mobile welding, septic removal, and refueling, where emergency engine shutdowns are often required. The PAS features a butterfly valve design that reduces parts and overall size compared to competitive units. It's constructed with aluminum and stainless components and weatherproof electrical connectors to prevent corrosion. Installation is easy, with no welding needed for hose retaining beads due to innovative bead boot locks. The system is available with two switching mechanisms: Automatic Over-speed Protection (Monitors the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) versus engine RPM and shuts down the valve if engine RPM increases substantially without applied throttle) and Mechanical On/Off Switch (A simple switch, ideal for applications like sled pullers or drag racers that require an air shutoff for regulations).
