Bedside Support Kit

The Dirt King Prefab Bed Cage (DK-632828) is engineered to significantly enhance rear suspension performance. It minimizes intrusion into the truck bed while maintaining structural integrity. Accessory mounting holes are conveniently located on the center section for lights or flag whips. The prefabbed structure bolts together, attaching to the frame via four welded brackets. It is compatible with both leaf-over and leaf-under spring configurations. This bed cage offers distinct advantages over cantilever suspension systems. Its shock mounts are positioned outside the frame rails, providing greater stability, compared to internal mounts. Furthermore, the vertical shock mounting and a near 1:1 motion ratio ensure proper and consistent dampening throughout the suspension's travel range. Cantilever systems, conversely, often have higher motion ratios, requiring smaller, harder-to-valve shocks that can overheat more quickly due to less fluid capacity. Constructed from durable 2"x.120" tubing and 1/4", 3/16", and 1/8" plate, this bed cage features a boxed plate and tube design. It is professionally MIG welded and proudly made in the USA. Recommended shock length is 16" (26" collapsed, 42" extended), though 14" shocks can be used with extended rod ends. It supports 3.0" shock diameters and is compatible with 2.5"-3.5" shocks, including bypass tubes on the front and back. The bed cage shock mounting width is 1.5". For axle fitment, 1.5"-2" wheel spacers or a corresponding axle width increase per side are required. The accessory mounting hole size is 1/2". This kit is designed for both 2WD and 4WD models. The kit includes the prefabbed bed cage structure, Grade 8 mounting hardware, and installation instructions. It is recommended for use with Deaver U182 leaf packs (also compatible with Deaver C85) and Fox or King shocks, though it works with all shock manufacturers. This bed cage is designed to fit 1999-2018 Chevy and GMC 1500 models.
