Big 3 Wiring Upgrade Kit

The JS Alternators Big 3 is a universal wiring upgrade kit engineered to enhance your vehicle's electrical system, particularly when paired with high-output alternators. This kit utilizes 1/0 gauge cables constructed from 100% oxygen-free copper, ensuring optimal conductivity and durability. The kit includes a 4-foot positive cable, designed to connect from the alternator's positive stud to the battery's positive terminal. It also includes one 4-foot ground cable and one 3-foot ground cable. These ground cables are intended for connection from the alternator mount bolt to the frame/chassis and from the battery's negative terminal to the frame/chassis, respectively. All cables are equipped with securely crimped copper lugs and finished with heat shrink for added protection and a clean installation. This is a universal kit, and while it provides the necessary components, exact measurements may vary for specific vehicles. For optimal performance and safety, it is recommended to add an in-line fuse to the positive wire. Proper grounding is critical; all ground connection points must be cleaned to bare metal and securely fastened. For vehicles with uni-body frames, additional steps may be necessary to ensure a solid ground connection on the thickest available metal on the sub-frame. Installation of a high-output alternator typically requires a shorter drive belt, usually 0.5 to 1 inch shorter than the factory belt, unless otherwise specified. It is also crucial to keep all electrical wiring at least 12 inches away from heat sources to prevent damage to the cable jacket. For specific vehicle types, such as RVC models, the ground wire may need to be routed through a designated ground sensor loop for correct operation.
