The Shark Racing Big Bore Throttle Body is a performance upgrade for the 2019+ Forte/K3/Cerato models equipped with the 1.6 Turbo GDi engine. This unit is a remanufactured OEM throttle body that has been modified to increase its bore size by 4 mm, resulting in a 60 mm bore compared to the factory 56 mm. This modification is performed by a specialized tuner with extensive experience in race car applications. The product has been rigorously tested on numerous race cars in Korea, indicating a focus on performance enhancement. Installation requires disconnecting the vehicle's battery prior to fitting the new throttle body to avoid potential engine codes. Furthermore, a specific ECU recalibration procedure, known as the HYUNDAI THROTTLE BODY VALVE RELEARN PROCEDURE, may be necessary after installation if engine codes are triggered. The procedure requires the battery voltage to be above 10 volts and the engine temperature above 41.5 degrees Celsius for successful completion. The steps involve turning the ignition to the ON position twice without starting the engine, followed by turning it OFF, to allow the ECM to learn the new throttle valve position.
