The calipers are meticulously crafted from a single billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring a lightweight yet incredibly strong and corrosion-resistant component. Inside, aluminum pistons are utilized to enhance heat resistance and maintain consistent performance under demanding conditions. Key features of this extreme brake upgrade include a lightweight, forged one-piece caliper construction for even thickness and superior strength. CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets are included to facilitate a direct bolt-on installation to the OEM caliper bracket locations, accommodating the larger Ksport calipers. The Supercomp systems come standard with a floating two-piece rotor design, where the outer section of the rotor can shift slightly, leading to reduced brake drag and more even pad application for improved performance. Buyers can choose between slotted or cross-drilled rotors; cross-drilled are recommended for daily driven vehicles due to better cooling, while slotted rotors are suggested for track use. This kit includes Ksport's SC5 Street Pads, which offer optimal braking for street and occasional track use. These pads are designed to reduce brake dust by over 50% compared to race pads, while also minimizing noise and rotor wear. They perform best within an optimal temperature range of 194°F - 1022°F. Additionally, all Ksport Big Brake kits come standard with D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which eliminate line expansion under pressure for a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel compared to stock rubber lines.
