Overview

The Ksport Supercomp Front Big Brake Kit is a high-performance braking system designed for the Volvo S40 FWD. This kit features 400mm x 36mm cross-drilled rotors and an 8-piston caliper type for enhanced stopping power. It integrates new brake technology to reduce brake fade and continuously cools the brake pads.

The SuperComp caliper is forged from aircraft quality billet aluminum and includes aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The 2-piece floating disc assembly reduces weight and thermal stress, while the unique slot design expels gas and pad debris. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles.

Show original supplier description

This sophisticated kit builds upon the Procomp series with larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, more pistons, and standard full-floating rotors for optimal self-centering and reduced drag. The calipers are constructed from a single billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring lightweight strength and corrosion resistance, and feature aluminum pistons for superior heat management. This kit incorporates a floating two-piece rotor design, allowing for slight shifts that enhance self-centering, lower brake drag, and boost overall performance. Stainless steel braided brake lines are standard, improving pedal response and feel by eliminating expansion under pressure. The Supercomp kit includes Ksport SC5 Street Pads, which offer optimal performance for street and occasional track use, significantly reducing dust and noise. For those seeking enhanced track performance, optional RC5 Race Pads are available. Rotors can be chosen in either a slotted or cross-drilled design; cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily drivers due to their cooler operating temperatures, while slotted rotors are better suited for track applications. Ksport Big Brake Kits are built to order and typically require 4-6 weeks for production and delivery.
