The Ksport Supercomp Toyota Prius 14" Big Brake System represents an extreme brake upgrade engineered for maximum stopping power and reduced brake fade, designed as a sophisticated bolt-on solution requiring no vehicle modifications for installation. This advanced brake system builds upon the Procomp kit with larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, featuring an increased number of pistons and standard full-floating rotors that allow for better self-centering within the caliper. The calipers themselves are crafted from a one-piece solid billet of aerospace-quality aluminum, ensuring unparalleled strength, lightweight construction, and resistance to corrosion. Inside, aluminum pistons are protected by heavy-duty seals capable of withstanding high temperatures, promoting smooth operation and preventing drag, while the opposed-piston design ensures consistent brake pad grip and wear. Lightweight center sections made from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum minimize rotational mass, contributing to quicker wheel response and braking. This design also reduces the likelihood of rotor warping due to heat expansion, as the outer section can move independently from the center. The center sections also act as heat sinks, dissipating heat more effectively. For serious track drivers concerned with brake fluid boiling and pedal fade, the standard full-floating rotor design allows the outer section to shift slightly, improving self-centering, reducing brake drag, and enhancing overall performance.
