The Mechman S series 320-amp alternator is engineered for demanding applications, offering incredible output within a compact and durable package. Its construction includes 12 diodes (double the typical amount) and twin rectifier plates, coupled with enhanced airflow to ensure longevity and reliable performance even under severe operating conditions. The black anodized billet aluminum housing provides a sleek, custom look while contributing to the unit's robustness. The installation process is straightforward: a single wire from the provided pigtail connects to an ignition-switched 12V+ source, enabling the alternator to operate in sync with the vehicle's ignition. Proper installation involves running appropriately sized positive and ground cables directly from the alternator to the battery terminals, ensuring compatibility with various wiring harnesses. The extensive fitment list covers numerous models from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac, spanning various years and engine displacements from 4.3L up to 8.1L.
