This kit features 8-piston calipers, constructed from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum for lightweight strength and corrosion resistance. The aluminum pistons offer superior heat resistance and reliable operation. The opposed piston design of the calipers significantly improves pad wear and rigidity compared to OEM components. The kit includes CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets to ensure proper bolt-up to the OEM caliper bracket location. It utilizes two-piece rotors, available in either slotted or cross-drilled options, to provide lightweight, fade-free performance and effective grip. Slotted rotors are recommended for track use, while cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily drivers due to better cooling. The kit comes standard with SC5 Street Pads, offering optimal braking performance under street and occasional track conditions, with reduced dust, noise, and rotor wear. DOT-compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are also included, which eliminate line expansion under pressure for a quicker pedal response and firmer pedal feel. Ksport Big Brake kits are built to order, with an estimated production and delivery time of 4-6 weeks. Calipers come standard in various painted colors, with options for premium high-polish finishes and over 20,000 custom color finishes available. This specific kit is designed for the 1982-1988 BMW 5 Series models, including the 524td, 528e, 533i, and 535i.
