The CSF #8300B Charge Air Cooler Manifold is engineered as a direct replacement for the Gen 1 B58 engine, addressing the limitations of the factory plastic unit. The OEM manifold is known to suffer from heat soak and gasket failure under elevated boost pressures, particularly in modified vehicles. This CSF Race upgrade offers a robust solution crafted from 100% TIG-welded billet aluminum, designed to withstand the demands of high-boost motorsports applications. This charge air cooler manifold features a high-performance, motorsports-grade bar/plate air-to-water intercooler core that doubles the capacity of the OEM core, boasting 12 rows of water cooling compared to the OEM's 6. Extensive testing has shown approximately a 30°F reduction in intake air temperatures (IATs) compared to the stock cooler, along with a lower pressure drop. This improved efficiency reduces stress on the turbo system, allows for more boost, and helps prevent the engine from entering 'limp mode' during demanding conditions. Beyond its core cooling performance, the CSF #8300B includes a high-performance extruded fuel rail for top-feed port injection, with AN-8 fittings and optimized 7mm injector openings. It also features individual 1/8th NPT ports on each cylinder runner for optional nitrous or methanol injection, ensuring even spray distribution. Additionally, a 3-port pad is integrated for measuring extra parameters or as a vacuum source, and a KIYLEX thermal rejection manifold spacer is included to further lower intake manifold temperatures. It also provides easy access to the spin-off oil filter without needing to remove the manifold. The product is made by Custom Plenum Creations in Australia and comes finished in raw billet aluminum, with options for Thermal Black Heat Dispersion Cerakote (CSF #8300B) or custom finishes (CSF #8300C). It is compatible with BMW models from 2016-2019, including the 340i, 440i, 540i, 640i xDrive Gran Turismo, 740i, M240i, X3 M40i, and X4 M40i, all equipped with the Turbocharged 3.0L L6 engine.
