The 3SX Performance Custom Lightweight Aluminum Crank Pulley is engineered as a direct replacement for the stock crank pulley on Mitsubishi 3000GT and Dodge Stealth models. Crafted from CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum, this pulley offers a substantial weight reduction, tipping the scales at only 1.7 pounds compared to the stock unit's 6.7 pounds. Unlike underdrive pulleys, this component is stock-sized, meaning it does not slow down accessories like the alternator, AC compressor, or power steering pump. This makes it an ideal performance upgrade for vehicles with significant electrical demands, such as those with high-output stereo systems, as it won't compromise the charging system's efficiency. This pulley is available for all years and models from 1991-1999, including SOHC, DOHC Turbo, and DOHC non-turbo engines. It's crucial to select the correct version based on your specific engine and accessory belt configuration: the 1991 DOHC models used a V-belt for power steering, while 1992-1999 DOHC models utilize a 4-rib serpentine belt. SOHC models also have specific fitments. Ordering the incorrect pulley may result in a restocking fee. When installed, this lightweight pulley contributes to an estimated horsepower increase of 8-10 HP due to the reduced rotational mass. It is available for purchase separately or as a kit with quality Gatorback belts. Installation requires careful attention to the specific engine variant to ensure proper belt compatibility.
