It addresses issues caused by excessive crankcase pressure from a faulty PCV valve, which is common in TSI engines. This upgrade replaces the factory's thin rubber seal with a billet-machined plate and a thicker, more heat and fluid-resistant Viton seal.

This rear main seal upgrade is compatible with EA888.1, EA888.2, EA888.3, EA888.4, 1.8TSI, and 2.0TSI engine families. Fitment is specified for model years 2009 through 2025. The cross-reference part numbers include 06H103171A and 06H103171F.
