Overview

The STM Tuned small battery kit is a lightweight mounting solution designed to reduce front-end weight and increase space in the engine bay of 2013-2020 Subaru BRZ, 2013-2016 Scion FR-S, and 2017-2019 Toyota 86 models.

Machined from billet aluminum with stainless steel hardware, the tray secures to existing chassis points. It provides a significant weight reduction compared to the factory battery setup.

The STM Tuned small battery kit is a specialized lightweight mounting system engineered for 2013-2020 Subaru BRZ, 2013-2016 Scion FR-S, and 2017-2019 Toyota 86 models to shift weight toward the rear and clear engine bay space. The assembly is machined from billet aluminum with stainless steel hardware and mounts directly to existing factory chassis points. This kit is intended specifically for racing environments and is not recommended for average daily drivers, as the batteries do not support aftermarket stereo systems and perform poorly in freezing temperatures. These units require a CTEK MXS 40-206 battery charger for maintenance if the vehicle sits for more than two weeks. Installation requires care: battery posts must be torqued to exactly 50 inch-pounds to avoid damage. Note that this product is not confirmed for use with 2021+ models. STM provides a lifetime guarantee on the aluminum battery tray, but batteries are considered maintenance items and are not covered under warranty due to their non-automotive intended use. Please note that batteries cannot be shipped outside the continental USA.
