Description

The 034Motorsport Billet Crank Seal Guard is engineered to protect BMW N52, N54, N55, and S55 engines from potentially catastrophic failures caused by serpentine belt disintegration. These engines are known for random belt failures, where the belt can wrap around the crankshaft past the OEM crank seal and enter the engine internals. Such an event can shred the belt, leading to oil pickup blockage, oil starvation, and ultimately, severe engine damage. Constructed from high-strength 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this guard provides robust protection. Its black anodized finish not only offers durability against corrosion but also maintains a clean aesthetic. Included with the Billet Crank Seal Guard are two M8x1.25x40mm, 12.9-grade, zinc-plated screws for installation. The manufacturer rates the installation effort as medium. This component is crucial for mitigating the risk of expensive engine rebuilds resulting from common serpentine belt failure scenarios.
