The 034Motorsport Billet Oil Cap for EA839 V6 2.9T/3.0T Engines offers a premium upgrade over the stock plastic oil cap. Constructed from CNC-machined billet 6061-T6 aluminum with a bright black anodized finish, this cap is built for longevity and aesthetics, featuring the distinctive 034Motorsport logo. Under high-boost conditions, a compromised PCV or breather hose can lead to the factory oil cap loosening or dislodging, potentially causing oil to escape into the engine bay. The 034Motorsport Billet Oil Cap provides a significantly tighter seal, mitigating the risk of oil loss, potential engine damage, and engine fires, offering enhanced peace of mind for performance enthusiasts. Installation is straightforward, with an effort level described as 'MILD,' taking less than a minute. The cap locks into place with a positive click and reuses the OE seal. For those who prefer to fabricate their own tools, 034Motorsport provides downloadable STEP and STL files for a removal tool, in addition to a PDF for a wood version. It is important to note that this product is not a solution for a faulty PCV system itself, but rather a measure to reduce the risk of secondary damage in such scenarios.
