Billet Press Fit Timing Belt Drive Gear

The CTS Turbo Billet Press Fit Timing Belt Drive Gear is engineered to solve the common failure point of factory timing drive gears on 06A 4-bolt 1.8T engines. The stock gears are prone to coming loose at high RPMs, which can shear the keyway, leading to catastrophic timing belt failure, bent valves, and piston damage. Additionally, the powdered metal construction of the factory gears can develop small cracks and disintegrate under torque. This replacement gear is machined from a solid billet steel block for superior strength and durability. It features a press-fit interface, meaning the gear is securely fitted to the end of the crankshaft, eliminating any possibility of it loosening and damaging the keyway. The gear also includes a 4-bolt damper interface, making it a direct fit for the 06A 1.8T application. A bright zinc plated finish is applied to prevent corrosion. Included with the gear are new damper bolts. For an even more robust timing drive setup, CTS Turbo recommends using this gear in conjunction with their IE/ARP crank bolt. This product is designed as a direct replacement for the factory timing gear, addressing the inherent weaknesses of the original component.
