The K-Tuned Race-Spec Billet RSX Shifter, model KTD-RSX-SBM, offers a significant upgrade from stock shifter boxes, virtually eliminating flex and looseness for a crisper, more direct feel. Its full billet construction ensures extreme strength, while the shift lever and pivot ball are crafted from solid stainless steel, seated within a self-lubricating Delrin cage for long-lasting, smooth operation. This shifter is designed for K-swapped applications utilizing RSX, EP3, 2002-2006 CR-V, or Element transmissions, as well as 8th-gen transmissions with an RSX-style shift selector swap. Key features include a mini base plate with an added provision for mounting a staging brake, an upgraded cage with a self-lubricating enclosure, and independent adjustability for throw, gate, and height. Additionally, an angle-correcting cable bracket ensures proper alignment, and adjustable seat pressure maintains shifter tightness over time. The design is patent-pending. Installation notes indicate that in a K-swap chassis, a shifter base plate will need to be used for mounting, either to or below the exhaust tunnel. Some users have reported that the shifter arm may not clear the shift boot in RSX applications, potentially requiring modification or removal of the center console garnish assembly. The shift knob is sold separately. K-Tuned also offers a rebuild service for shifters manufactured in 2023 and later, involving inspection, cleaning, and replacement of wear items for a fee.
