Billet Shift Knob

Developed with input from customers and racers, this shift knob aims to offer a clean and functional upgrade. The manufacturing process starts with a solid billet bar of 6061 aluminum, which is then precisely machined to size on a CNC lathe. Following this, the blank knobs undergo an anodizing process, with black receiving a hard anodize and colored variants receiving a regular anodize. The final critical step involves chucking the knob on a 4-Axis CNC mill to precision cut a unique grid pattern, designed specifically to improve shifter grip. This intricate detailing contributes to a 5% scrap rate, highlighting the precision involved. The product is available in a 160-gram aluminum version or a 450-gram weighted stainless steel option. K-Tuned found that overly weighted knobs can sometimes interfere with the neutral return spring on cable shifter setups. Therefore, they engineered this knob to have a balanced weight—around 5.5 oz—that provides confident and accurate shifting without compromising the return spring's function. The knob is finished with the K-Tuned logo on two sides and an engraved K logo on top. A custom-made jam nut is included to ensure the knob remains securely locked in place.
