This aluminum engine block is designed for Big Block Chevrolet engines. It features a raised 0.400" camshaft location for increased connecting rod and crankshaft counterweight clearance and a main oil gallery located alongside the camshaft tunnel to prevent interference. It is cast from virgin 355-T61 aerospace alloy for superior strength, has ductile iron sleeves with extra thick cylinder walls, reinforcing ribs, and a priority main oiling system. It accepts standard BBC cam journals (up to 60mm with raised cam options), standard 0.842" BBC lifter bores, and comes with steel 4-bolt main caps (aluminum caps optional). It includes provisions for a mechanical fuel pump, clutch linkage mounts, and side/front motor mounts. It also has dual oil pan bolt patterns to fit standard and notched oil pans.
