Block Hugger Headers

The Sanderson DD9 header set is engineered for small block Chrysler 318-360 LA V8 engines, specifically designed for 1966 and older Dodge, Chrysler, and Plymouth A-body and E-body chassis vehicles like the Dart, Barracuda, Challenger, and Duster. These block hugger headers are constructed from durable 16-gauge steel with 1¼” primary tubes and a 2½” collector. The 3/8″ thick flange utilizes a patented gasket-free design for a reliable seal. Sanderson Headers are proudly made in the USA and offer a limited 5-year warranty. They are available in three finishes: Plain Steel (raw metal), Silver Ceramic Coated, or Black Satin Ceramic Coated. The ceramic coating is recommended for its thermal control benefits, improved exhaust scavenging, and enhanced longevity. Important fitment considerations apply. These headers are exclusively for automatic transmission applications and may not work with all hydraulic clutch setups. They require that the engine does not use an oil filter adapter that points the filter rearward, as this configuration is incompatible. Variations in steering gears, steering shafts, and mounts can affect fitment, and some applications with a large Chrysler steering shaft coupler body may require an aftermarket replacement. Engine location is critical, and the use of "location-correcting" engine mount kits can prevent proper header fit. While DD9 is designed for 1966 and earlier vehicles, there can be overlap with other Sanderson header models, and careful comparison of images or test-fitting may be necessary, particularly with power steering applications. Sanderson Headers are not emissions legal on pollution-controlled motor vehicles, and it is the purchaser’s responsibility to verify local regulations. Wrapping the headers with any thermal tape will void the warranty.
