The Sanderson CC158 header set is a 1-5/8″ primary tube block hugger shorty design engineered for a wide range of 1927 and newer vehicles equipped with a small block Chevrolet engine (265-400ci). This header is designed for maximum clearance, fitting any rack and pinion setup, Vega steering, and Mustang-style steering with 2″ clearance from the steering gear to the driver's side center ports. It accommodates most motor mount configurations, tie rods, and steering rods, and is compatible with any starter and transmission combination. Constructed from durable 16-gauge steel for both primary and collector tubes, these headers feature a robust 3/8″ thick flange. Sanderson's patented flange design eliminates the need for gaskets, ensuring a leak-free seal. The CC158 includes spark plug clearance dimpling on the center two tubes, specifically designed to accommodate Vortec-style straight plug cylinder heads, including Blueprint heads. All necessary hardware for installation is included. Sanderson recommends their ceramic coating for all applications. This multi-layer, inside-and-outside aluminized ceramic coating is applied in-house, polished to a high luster, and offers excellent protection, thermal control, improved cylinder scavenging, and increased longevity. Available finish options include Silver Ceramic Coated, Black Satin Ceramic Coated, and Plain Steel (Unfinished). **Important Installation Notes:** Sanderson Headers are not emissions legal on pollution-controlled vehicles; verify local regulations.
