Unlike conventional dual-port blow-off valves, the Respons features GFB's patented venting bias adjustment system. This innovative system allows users to precisely control the ratio of air vented to the atmosphere versus recirculated air, enabling customization of the blow-off sound from completely silent to maximum noise, or any setting in between. This adjustability is crucial for achieving the desired sound without causing detrimental effects such as stalling, backfiring, or running rich, even on sensitive Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor-based systems. It utilizes GFB's Turbo Management System (TMS) principle, which operates differently from factory bypass valves by remaining shut until required to open. This method helps preserve a small amount of boost pressure during gear shifts, leading to faster boost recovery when the throttle is reapplied. GFB's balanced piston design ensures the valve cannot be forced open by high boost pressures, meaning it will hold all the boost generated by the engine, contributing to improved throttle response and overall performance. The specific applications listed for the T9003 model include various Subaru WRX, WRX STi, and Forester XT models from 2001 through 2021, with a specific note that Vehicle models prior to 03/06 for the Forester XT may require part number T9000.
