The Hawk Performance HB157E.484 brake pad utilizes the Blue 9012 racing compound, engineered for medium to high temperature ranges and robust torque control. This compound is lauded for its excellent modulation and release characteristics, making it a popular choice for SCCA racing and a best seller. This racing pad is designed as an entry-level endurance compound, offering easier bedding-in and excellent pad and rotor life. It is specifically developed for Road, Rally, and Circle Track racing applications. The Hawk Performance Blue 9012 compound is designed to work with Iron/Metal rotors and is not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. Common vehicle fitments for the Hawk HB157E.484 include the rear brakes of 1990-1993 Mazda Miata (NA, 1.6), 1990-1994 Mazda Protege (with disc brakes), and 1991-1996 Ford Escort GT. It is also noted as a common fitment for Spec Miata 1.6 NA rear applications.
