The Cobra BlueBound 150 EU VHF Handheld Marine Radio is engineered to keep captains prepared and safe while at sea. This compact, US-designed radio provides reliable communication with selectable power output levels of 0.5W (Low), 1W (Medium), and 3W (High) to manage range and conserve battery life. Included with the radio are essential accessories for immediate use: five AAA NiMH 850mAh rechargeable batteries, a 12V to USB-C charging cable for convenient power-ups, a belt clip for easy carrying, and a wrist strap for added security. The radio boasts an 11-hour battery life and a water resistance rating of IPX7, ensuring durability against water immersion. It operates on 12 VHF channels and requires an FCC license for operation. Initial setup involves ensuring the radio is fully charged. Users can utilize the provided rechargeable batteries or their own AAA batteries (rechargeable or disposable), though mixing brands or types is not recommended. Country configuration can be selected by holding the VOL & 16+ keys simultaneously upon startup, with options for various regions including Default, UK, Denmark, Finland/Sweden/Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Iceland. Additional country frequencies may require support from a Cobra dealer. The radio features a Push-to-Talk (PTT) button for transmissions and allows volume adjustment using the VOL key and arrow keys. Channel 16 is designated as the distress and safety channel and should always be monitored.
