The BMW Genuine Parts air intake boot is engineered as a direct replacement for the component that connects the mass airflow sensor (HFM) to the ASC (Automatic Stability Control) throttle body. Cracks or tears in this rubber boot are a frequent cause of engine issues, including vacuum leaks, leading to a poor or rough idle, stalling, and check engine lights indicating a lean condition. This part directly replaces BMW part number 13541740073. This air intake hose channels clean air from the air filter into the intake manifold. Over time, the rubber material can degrade, potentially causing reduced fuel efficiency, compromised engine performance, and an improper air/fuel mixture. Symptoms of a failing intake boot include a persistent check engine light, rough idling, audible intake noises from cracks, and decreased fuel economy. It is specifically for vehicles equipped with ASC+T (traction control). This intake boot is compatible with various BMW E36 models including the 323i, 323is, 328i, 328is, M3, and Z3 (2.8L and M S52) from model years 1996 through 1999, and certain Z3 models through 2000. It is crucial to ensure your vehicle is equipped with ASC+T for proper fitment.
