Description

The Schrick valve spring (part number 048502098) is engineered for enhanced performance in the BMW S65B40 4.0L V8 engine, commonly found in the E9x M3 models. The valve spring has an outer diameter of 25.8mm and an inner diameter of 18.3mm, with a wire thickness of 3.75mm. It provides a valve lift of 13mm (S) and exerts a spring force of 396N at its maximum installation length (L1) of 39mm, and a force of 980N at its minimum working length (L2) of 26mm. They are compatible with OE valves and are sold individually, with 32 springs required per engine. Some sources indicate these springs are intended for use with Schrick 292 cams or other performance camshafts for the S65 engine, and are compatible with titanium retainers. Professional installation is recommended, and BMW factory tools may be required for proper fitment and setup.
