Description

The Competition Engineering C3116 is a set of bolt-on subframe connectors engineered to significantly improve the chassis rigidity of unibody GM X-Body vehicles manufactured between 1968 and 1979. These connectors are highly recommended for street and strip applications and are legal for all classes of drag racing. Constructed from durable steel tubing with dimensions of 2" x 1-1/2" x 0.083", the subframe connectors feature a protective black powder coat finish. They are designed with computer-aided design and manufacturing for precise bracketry and are precision fixture welded to ensure an optimal final fit. For enhanced chassis strength, welding the connectors is an optional but recommended procedure. By tying the front and rear frames together, these subframe connectors create a more solid platform, effectively eliminating the bending, flexing, and cracking of spot-welded sheet metal panels common in unibody construction. It is important to note that these bolt-on connectors do not relocate the rear leaf springs inboard. For applications requiring spring relocation, Competition Engineering offers a separate line of weld-in frame connectors.
