The proTuning Freaks bootmod3 S63TU is an advanced cloud-based flash tuning platform engineered for BMW S63TU engines, including the 2011–2017 F10 M5, 2012–2018 F12/13 M6, 2013–2018 F06 M6 Gran Coupe, and 2015–2019 F85 X5 M and F86 X6 M. This system allows for comprehensive engine calibration over the OBD port, letting users toggle between custom and factory maps, monitor real-time vehicle parameters, and perform diagnostic functions through an intuitive mobile app or web portal. Installation requires either an OBD ENET cable or a bootmod3 Wireless OBD WiFi Flash adapter, which must be purchased separately. Users should be aware that the platform is compatible with Windows 10+ and macOS 10.15+, along with iOS and Android devices. For vehicles with production dates after 6/2020, the DME cannot be unlocked for tuning; checking the label printed on the DME itself is the only accurate method to verify the production date, as chassis production dates may differ. Important technical caveats apply: recent BMW software updates may result in a locked DME, which requires a bench unlock to facilitate the installation of a bootmod3 tune. Additionally, several features, such as cold start removal and cat efficiency check removal, are intended strictly for off-road or track use only. PRO TUNING FREAKS makes no guarantees regarding the legality of these features for on-highway use, and their use may void portions of the factory vehicle warranty.
