The BorgWarner EFR 6258 turbocharger is engineered as the smallest and quickest-spooling unit within the EFR lineup, making it an excellent choice for various performance applications including autocross, rally, drift, road racing, and street use. It is suitable for both single and twin-turbo configurations on small displacement engines. This turbo features a 62mm OD Forged-Milled Wheel (FMW) extended tip compressor with a 49.6mm inducer, rated for a maximum flow of 44 lb/min, which can support up to 440 horsepower. Its compressor map offers significant width for substantial power potential, even under high boost conditions. The low-inertia 58mm Gamma-Ti turbine wheel is precisely matched with the compressor for rapid response and quick spool-up. The smallest EFR compressor housing is utilized for easier fitment in compact engine bays. Key internal features include dual-row ceramic ball bearings for minimal friction and maximal spool, water cooling for the center section (recommended), and double seals on both the turbine and compressor ends for increased durability and oil seepage resistance. The compressor housing integrates a Blow-Off Valve (BOV) and provisions for a speed sensor. Turbine specifications include a 58mm OD Gamma-Ti wheel (or 55mm option) and a stainless steel sand-cast housing with a 3-inch V-band discharge. The EFR 6258 is ideal for single-turbo applications targeting 260-440hp and can be used in twin-turbo setups for 500-800+hp.
