The Ksport SuperComp Front Big Brake Kit offers massive stopping power through its extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper, which features larger pistons than their ProComp calipers. Forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, each caliper weighs just over 7lbs and includes machined-in protection grooves. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM designs, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Due to the caliper's size, each requires four brake pads. This kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, reducing rotating and unsprung weight, and preventing thermal stresses from warping the disc. The unique slot design on the rotor minimizes braking noise and expels gas and pad debris efficiently. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. The kit comes standard with Ksport SC5 Street Pads, NAOC ceramic pads designed for street and occasional track use, offering optimal braking performance between 194°F – 1022°F. These pads reduce brake dust by over 50% compared to race pads and minimize noise and rotor wear. An optional Ksport RC1 Race Pad (carbon metallic) is available for extreme track conditions, operating optimally between 482°F – 1472°F, but is not recommended for street use. Included are CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets that allow for direct OEM mounting. DOT-compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are standard, improving pedal feel and response. The kit is backed by a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturer defects. Note that this is a Special Order product, manufactured to client specifications, and is therefore non-returnable. The specific kit provided is for the 2019 Volvo XC40, featuring 380mm slotted, floating rotors and 8-piston calipers.
