The SuperComp caliper itself is a lightweight, forged aircraft-quality billet aluminum component with a differential bore configuration, significantly larger pistons than standard calipers, and includes protection grooves, high-temperature seals, titanium retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates. Its opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity, while the included stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. Each SuperComp caliper in this kit requires four brake pads due to its substantial size. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design mitigates thermal stress, preventing the disc from warping or the braking surface from cupping under extreme heat. The rotors feature a unique slot design that minimizes braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more efficiently than conventional designs. Ksport offers rotors that are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance, with cross-drilled options recommended for daily-driven vehicles to run cooler, and slotted options preferred for track use. Standard with the kit are Ksport SC5 Street Pads, formulated from NAOC ceramic for optimal performance in street and occasional track conditions, offering reduced dust and noise. For dedicated track use, Ksport RC5 Race Pads, made from carbon metallic, are available as an upgrade, providing maximum stopping power under extreme conditions but are not recommended for street use due to their high optimal operating temperature.
