The Ferrari Brake Systems BK-021 is a performance-oriented brake system engineered to elevate the braking capabilities of the Ferrari 308 without compromising its original aesthetics. This system functions as a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory front rotors and calipers, as well as the rear rotors. Its design focuses on retaining the original braking balance while significantly increasing torque, thermal capacity, and cooling efficiency. A key feature is its compatibility with factory 16-inch wheels, eliminating the need for any wheel upgrades. Up front, the system incorporates a forged aluminum four-piston Wilwood racing caliper with integrated dirt seals, offering a blend of lightweight strength and durability for street use. The two-piece floating rotor measures 310x25mm and combines a 6061-T6 billet aluminum hat with a high-carbon iron disc for superior heat management and structural integrity. For the rear, GiroDisc retains the original caliper to preserve the factory parking brake assembly, but upgrades to a floating two-piece rotor to enhance cooling and consistency. Stainless steel braided brake lines and carefully selected performance pads are included to ensure optimal hydraulic balance and pedal feel, resulting in a firmer, more responsive pedal with improved modulation and fade resistance. This brake system is ideal for spirited driving and track days. GiroDisc meticulously engineered the piston sizing to closely match the factory master cylinder and front-to-rear force distribution, thus preserving the integrity of the original braking dynamics while substantially improving overall performance. Directionally curved vanes within the rotors function as centrifugal pumps, actively expelling air through the rotors to dramatically reduce heat buildup and pad fade, a significant improvement over restrictive OE designs. The system also offers considerable weight savings, reducing unsprung mass and rotational inertia for sharper handling and quicker acceleration. The slotted rotor faces continuously refresh the pad surface for consistent bite, and the high-strength floating hardware prevents warping and cold rattle.
