The Brian Tooley Racing BTR SK013 Conical Valve Spring Kit is engineered to enhance valvetrain stability for Gen V LT engines, particularly at high RPMs and with camshafts that support up to .650" of valve lift. As BTR's pioneering conical spring kit for these engines, it has undergone extensive refinement to offer optimal performance. This kit is suitable for applications where a dual spring setup is not required or is disallowed by racing regulations. The kit includes 16 SP014-1 valve springs, 1 SL505045CON-16 valve spring locator set, 1 VS LS KIT valve seal kit, and 1 VL7°8MM-32 valve lock set. The spring specifications are 160 LB seat pressure at 1.875" install height and 395 LB open pressure at 1.225", with a coil bind height of 1.165". Brian Tooley Racing strongly recommends replacing the pushrods when installing this kit to ensure optimal performance and durability. It is important to note that LT4 engines require a different spring kit, part number SK014. Additionally, BTR advises against using single wire conical or beehive springs with roller rockers due to potential valvetrain instability from added mass, or with higher ratio rockers that could lead to coil bind issues.
