The EV West AC-50-96 is a high-performance brushless AC induction motor kit, ideal for electric vehicle conversions and DIY projects. Operating within a 72-108V range, this motor is capable of delivering a peak power of 71 HP (53 kW) and 120 lb-ft (163 Nm) of torque, with a continuous RPM of 5,000 and a maximum of 10,000 RPM. This AC50 motor features a B-Face motor face, AC induction type, and integrated encoder sensors. It does not have brushes or interpoles. The motor's construction includes an internal fan for thermal cooling, with a maximum operating temperature of 180 degrees Celsius. Its dimensions are a diameter of 8.980 inches, a case length of 13.798 inches, and a shaft length end-to-end of 17.5 inches. The drive end shaft is 1 1/8 inch with a 1/4 inch keyway, and an optional commutator end shaft of 7/8 inch with a 3/16 keyway is available. This kit is specifically recommended for medium and small-sized lightweight vehicle applications, offering features such as regenerative braking and an idle function. The system operates at a modest 130 controller volts, providing a safer low-voltage system for reliable EV operation. It comes with a 2-year warranty.
