The Brian Tooley Racing BTR LS7 Stage 3 V2 camshaft is engineered with BTR-designed lobes, developed through extensive Spintron and dyno testing. This V2 iteration of the Stage 3 LS7 camshaft offers increased power and torque across the curve compared to previous versions, while maintaining valvetrain stability and durability. It is designed for naturally aspirated LS7 7.0L engines and features a 3-bolt pattern with specifications of 237/25x .662"/.662" 114LSA. This camshaft is optimized for aggressive peak power and top-end performance, though it does have a rough idle and sacrifices some low-end torque. The combination of its aggressive power delivery and design intended to be easy on parts makes it a suitable option for the street/strip enthusiast. For optimal performance, it is recommended to pair this camshaft with a suitable intake manifold and exhaust combination, which can help achieve over 650 horsepower. It is also recommended to use titanium intake valves for maximum performance and reliability. Installation of the BTR LS7 Stage 3 V2 camshaft requires specific supporting components. Brian Tooley Racing recommends using their .660" Lift Platinum spring kit, which should include titanium retainers and hardened pushrods. The LS7 rocker arms' longer pivot length and scroll allow for lifts up to .660" without valve tip damage, and a maximum open spring pressure of 430 lbs is recommended. Kit options are available that bundle the camshaft with necessary components such as spring kits, pushrods, and gasket kits (including timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, front crankshaft seal, and a new LS7 damper bolt).
