The Burger Motorsports JB4 is a plug-and-play tuner engineered for various Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis turbocharged models, including those with 1.6L, 2.5L, and 3.5L SmartStream engines. This tuner connects directly to existing engine sensors and works in conjunction with your vehicle's factory ECU to optimize boost, ignition timing, and fuel delivery, resulting in improved performance and a quicker throttle response.
Featuring a powerful 64MHz processor and 10-bit digital-to-analog converters, the JB4 samples sensors 1000 times per second to ensure precise and consistent performance adjustments. It includes a programmable CANbus system that allows it to factor in various engine parameters like pedal input, throttle position, gear selection, engine speed, and air/fuel ratios into its performance mapping. The JB4 also offers the ability to read and delete fault codes, and incorporates safety features such as maintaining low boost until the engine reaches optimal operating temperature and reducing boost if the engine overheats, runs lean, or experiences excessive knock.
This tuning system offers advanced functionality beyond basic performance chips, with upgradable firmware and data logging capabilities. Maps for different octane levels (91, 93) and E85 mixtures can be selected on-the-fly. Please note that for optimal performance and to prevent spark blowout, it is recommended to adjust the factory spark plug gap to 0.026" or use alternative spark plugs.
Compatibility is extensive across the Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis turbocharged lineup, including specific models like the 2018+ Kia Stinger (2.0L, 3.3L), 2015+ Kia Forte (1.6L Turbo), 2011+ Hyundai Sonata (1.6L & 2.0L Turbo), 2017-2021 Hyundai Elantra (1.6L & 2.0L Turbo), and 2018+ Genesis G70/G80 (2.0L & 3.3L Turbo). The product is intended for off-road use only and may not comply with emissions regulations for public road use. It comes with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The manufacturer also notes that for 2021 and newer SmartStream 1.6T, 2.5T, and 3.5T motors, a different version may be required.
