The Flyin' Miata Butterfly Brace v2.1 is an enhanced chassis rigidity upgrade specifically engineered for NA and NB Miatas. By increasing the structural stiffness of the vehicle's frame, this brace allows the suspension system to operate more efficiently, resulting in significantly improved and more predictable handling characteristics, as well as a more refined ride quality. This v2.1 version of the brace offers several improvements over its predecessor, including increased ground clearance for a wider range of exhaust systems, more room for fuel and brake lines, and a design that is dramatically easier to install and remove for service. It integrates seamlessly with factory front and rear subframe braces. For vehicles equipped with the "Sport" undercar bracing, two central cross braces will need to be removed. The brace is constructed from stainless steel to prevent rust and has a total weight of 33 lbs, contributing to a low and centralized center of gravity. The installation process is facilitated by the brace's design, which ties directly into the front subframe mount points. For owners who already have Flyin' Miata's version 2.0 frame rails, this butterfly brace acts as a direct upgrade. However, older versions of Flyin' Miata frame rails may not be directly compatible without welding in custom mounting plates. The v2.1 features minor modifications for more consistent quality compared to the v2.0 and is fully interchangeable.
