C1-690 6x9-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker System

The JL Audio C1-690 is a 2-way component speaker system engineered to deliver substantial audio performance and easy installation. This system includes 6x9-inch woofers with mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene cones and rubber surrounds, designed for smooth, dynamic, and low-distortion sound reproduction. The woofers feature a proprietary stamped steel frame and a DMA-optimized motor system, ensuring precise control and preventing voice coil impact. Complementing the woofers are true, edge-driven, 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters that provide superior high-frequency clarity and definition with excellent off-axis response. These tweeters incorporate a silk surround suspension, Ferrofluid for damping, and a neodymium magnet for strength. To further enhance performance and power handling, an in-line, outboard 2nd order high-pass filter with Advanced Tweeter Protection Circuitry is included. Designed for installation versatility, the C1-690 comes with spacer/adaptor rings to facilitate fitment in bottom-mount applications. Both surface and flush mounting options are provided for the tweeters, offering maximum installation flexibility. Key specifications include a continuous power handling of 60W RMS, a recommended amplifier power of 10-100W RMS per channel, a system efficiency of 91.5 dB, a 4-ohm nominal impedance, and a frequency response of 39 Hz - 22 KHz ± 3 dB. The woofer mounting depth is 2.75 inches. The C1-690 is sold as a pair, and grilles are not available. Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance.
