The Brian Tooley Racing C5.R timing chain is a high-performance upgrade for LS and LT engines. Developed from Katech's professional endurance racing experience, this chain offers exceptional durability and reliability, with no documented failures in Corvette Racing programs.

The chain features fine-blanked plates and a proprietary pin coating to enhance fatigue and wear resistance, ensuring long-term timing stability under demanding conditions. Each chain is laser-engraved with the Katech logo for authenticity.

Derived from Katech's extensive experience in professional endurance racing, including Corvette Racing programs, this timing chain has demonstrated exceptional reliability under sustained high-RPM operation, with no recorded failures in documented race applications. It features fine-blanked chain plates and a Katech-specified proprietary pin coating, which significantly improve wear characteristics, fatigue resistance, and overall long-term timing stability. Unlike many double-roller race chains, the C5.R design utilizes production sprockets (not included) and does not require oil pump clearancing when used with a production-style oil pump, simplifying installation and preserving factory geometry. This timing chain replaces the older HME-G68V-2 part number and is compatible with a wide range of Gen III, IV, and V LS and LT engines. It is an ideal upgrade for camshaft swaps, performance builds, high-mileage engines, and applications requiring increased timing chain durability, such as road racing and endurance engines. Professional engine assembly is strongly recommended for proper installation, sprocket compatibility, and timing verification. Each genuine Katech C5.R Timing Chain is laser-engraved with the Katech logo for positive identification and authenticity, confirming it as a Katech-exclusive component.
