The Katech C5.R Timing Chain is a race-derived component engineered for LS and LT engines, offering proven timing control and exceptional durability. Developed from Katech's extensive experience in professional endurance racing, including Corvette Racing C5.R programs, this timing chain has a documented history of reliability with no recorded failures in demanding applications like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona. This timing chain is designed as an easy replacement that utilizes production sprockets, simplifying installation. Unlike many double-roller race chains, it does not require oil pump clearancing when used with a production-style oil pump, preserving factory geometry and making it ideal for high-performance and endurance engines. The C5.R chain incorporates proprietary enhancements, such as fine-blanked chain plates and a Katech-specified proprietary pin coating, which significantly improve fatigue resistance, wear characteristics, and long-term timing stability, especially under sustained high-RPM operation. Each genuine Katech C5.R Timing Chain is laser-engraved with the Katech logo for positive identification. This timing chain is suitable for LS and LT-based engines retaining standard production timing geometry. Professional engine assembly is strongly recommended for proper installation, sprocket compatibility, and timing verification.
