It is a new, genuine OEM part from BMW, backed by the manufacturer's factory warranty for added assurance. Installation typically involves accessing the filter housing located under the glove compartment. The process may require removing trim panels and unscrewing cover screws to access and replace the old filter. Specific instructions involve noting the orientation of the water drain hose and ensuring the new filter's arrow points towards the front of the car. Proper routing of the water drain hose is crucial to prevent water from entering the passenger compartment.
