The Modern Driveline MD-6566M-CC is a clutch cable conversion kit engineered for 1965-1966 Ford Mustangs and Cougars, aiming to modernize the clutch system. This kit facilitates the swap of late-model T-5, T-45, TR3650, T-56, or Tremec transmissions into classic Mustangs, provided a cable-compatible bellhousing or scatter shield is utilized. The kit reuses the original clutch pedal, incorporating an adjustable bracket for fine-tuning the cable. Modern Driveline has designed this system to be compatible with both manual brake setups and most power brake boosters utilizing the original style booster. Installation requires some drilling through the firewall for the clutch cable. Included in the kit are the clutch cable, clutch brackets, mounting hardware, and detailed installation instructions. While described as a bolt-on upgrade, users should note potential fitment issues with aftermarket boosters, long-tube or Tri-Y headers, and specific OE Bendix 8" boosters, as these may interfere with the firewall mounts. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, requiring intermediate skill.
