Caliper Mounting Kit

The Brembo 986.351.421 is a caliper mounting kit engineered by Kingpin Engineering to facilitate the installation of Porsche 986 Boxster front calipers onto 4-lug 1988-2000 Honda Civic and CRX models that originally came with 9.5-inch front rotors. This kit enables a significant big brake upgrade, utilizing OEM Porsche Brembo four-piston calipers. The mounting brackets are precision-machined from 6061 aluminum in-house, ensuring quality and durability. The kit has been recently redesigned to incorporate stainless steel studs and flanged nuts, enhancing thread engagement and clamping force over standard bolts. This stud conversion also simplifies installation and makes rotor changes a faster process. This kit is compatible with most 15-inch wheels. It includes all necessary mounting brackets, hardware, and brake line banjo bolts, allowing for the use of factory brake lines. Rotor centering rings may be required depending on the specific rotor used; check if your rotor's lug stud holes are 16mm or larger to determine if they are needed. The kit requires the separate purchase of Porsche 986 Boxster base model front calipers (casting/part numbers 986.351.422 and 986.351.421) and 2006 Mini Cooper S JCW brake discs (294mm diameter). Note that rear calipers from the 986 are not compatible. Installation instructions specify not to use thread locker on the studs; instead, use ARP lube or copper anti-seize, treating them like engine head studs. Snug down the studs using two of the included nuts. The specified torque for knuckle bolts is 75 ft-lbs, and for caliper nuts, it is 60 ft-lbs.
