The ZZPerformance GT1-RPM camshaft is engineered to enhance performance in naturally aspirated L36 engines while maintaining crucial street-ability and emissions compliance. It's designed with steep ramp rates and tight base lobes to keep engine computers and emissions equipment satisfied, generally avoiding SES lights and the P0300 code. This makes it suitable for a wide range of builds, from stock to highly modified 3800 engines, and it performs well even with nitrous or intercooled boost. This camshaft is unique as it's one of the few L36 grinds on the market that can deliver performance gains without requiring converter or gear changes. While it can be installed on stock heads with stock springs and retainers, ZZPerformance highly recommends upgrading to 90# or 105# valve springs for optimal performance and durability, along with higher shift points. Recommended supporting modifications for a well-rounded build include Comp Cams or Crow Cams valve springs, ZZP modified retainers, LS7 lifters, ZZP custom pushrods, a timing chain dampener or Rollmaster double timing chain, an extra thick front cover gasket, and a machined oil pump cover. Using a ZZP Pushrod Length Checker is advised to determine the correct pushrod length.
